OVERVIEW OF THE POST:
The overall purpose of the Team Leader role is to work alongside the
Centre Coordinators to lead a core team of adult support workers to
provide a quality service that responds to the specific needs and
priorities of the individuals we support. A key focus will be on
promoting integration of the service users into the local community,
facilitating access to programmes and using a person centred approach
in line with New Directions. The post holder will report to and work
closely with the Centre Coordinators in the development and delivery
of the service. The team lead will work with service users and the
staff team taking lead responsibility for the preparation,
implementation and monitoring of all day to day activities within the
day service, and community based programmes.
DUTIES:
* Ensure the delivery of appropriate and effective service to each
service user as agreed with service user and staff team.
* Contribute to the development of strategies for the implementation
of New Directions to meet the identified and emerging needs of the
service users.
* Ensure that the highest standard of service user support is
maintained and participate in the delivery of all supports required to
enable service users to participate fully in activities of daily
living, including personal care needs and administration of
medication.
* Work with the co-ordinator in devising staff rosters and ensure
that duties, activities and programmes allocated to staff are carried
out efficiently and to manage daily transport schedules.
* To devise processes for the tracking and auditing of service users
goals and to track Key Performance indicators (KPI?s). Updating the
HSE?s EASI-tool will be a key requisite of the role.
* To observe and respect the confidentiality and safety of service
users and to safeguard their privacy, dignity and values in a
professional manner.
* To assist in maintaining the service user filing system in line
with GDPR regulations.
* To provide a point of contact for the service and to deal with
queries in a timely, profession, and courteous manner.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
_ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:_
* Possess the National Diploma in Childcare awarded by HETAC/DIT
* OR possess the National Diploma in Applied Social Care Studies
awarded by HETAC/DIT
* OR possess the Diploma in Social Care awarded by HETAC/DIT
* OR possess a BA (ord) in Social Care Practice (level 7)
* OR possess Open Training College Diploma in Applied Social Studies
(disability)
* OR be a qualified RNIS
* OR possess an equivalent qualification
* have a suitable standard of professional attainments
* have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high
standard of suitability and ability for the proper discharge of the
duties of the office)
* Minimum of 2 years? experience in the disability services
sector.
* Good IT skills
_DESIRABLE CRITERIA:_
* Experience working with adults in social/leisure setting.
* Experience of working in community/non-centred based setting.
* Full clean driving licence
